Dietmar Goericke is Managing Director Research and Development of VDMA – Mechanical Engineering Industry, responsible for the pre-competitive research between industry and science and the research policy of the association. The VDMA represents more than 3,200-member companies in 38 sectors of German mechanical engineering, 90% of which are medium-sized companies.

Dietmar Goericke has also been Managing Director of the Research Association for Combustion Engines eV (FVV) and of the Research Association for Mechanical Engineering eV (FKM) since 2000.

FVV is a globally unique network of companies, research & technology performers (RTD) and funding bodies. Manufacturers of automotive engines, industrial engines and turbomachinery as well as their suppliers and service providers work together with universities and other research establishments on cutting-edge technologies. The aim is to make engines and turbines cleaner, more efficient and sustainable – for the benefit of society, industry and the environment.

At the national level, Goericke is active in several national research committees with intensive contacts to the BMBF and BMWi. He is a member of several research advisory boards with relevance for German mechanical engineering. In European research, Goericke represents the VDMA in the ORGALIME RTD Group. He has been working in the ManuFuture High Level and Support Group since 2002. He is a member of the board of EFFRA (European Factories of the Future Research Association).

Dietmar Goericke holds a degree in aerospace engineering from the Technical University of Berlin (1987).
